ITA was launched by Brooklyn based sister design duo, Bita and Rouzita Vahhabaghai, with the goal of merging their backgrounds in architecture, graphic design, and fashion into a multidisciplinary design house. Having celebrated success for over a decade, their work has included new homes, interiors, hotel suites, furniture, fashion accessories, and home product designs. Also known as the “ITA sisters,” the moniker has carried over to their design house and their premier ITA Collection, a lifestyle brand of luxury products. Bita and Rouzita create objects that elevate above fashion and trends, to meet the challenge of achieving timeless designs that will be beautiful 50 years from now and would have been beautiful 50 years ago.

Bita and Rouzita have regularly been touted in the media for their innovative designs and signature patented weaves. Through a thoughtful and tactile appreciation of material productivity, they created a utility patented weave that combines leather, jute, hemp, and natural materials with a mesh base. Each piece is meticulously handmade by artisans in New York with an emphasis on craftsmanship and extraordinary detail. Under the ITA Umbrella, is an array of award-winning timeless handbags and accessories that introduced their patented fabric to the luxury fashion market in 2012. Coming full circle, Bita and Rouzita are now introducing their ITA Surfaces Collection, which translates their coveted signature weaves into wall coverings, screens, furniture, lighting and home accessories.
